Thoughts about summer
This is a busy summer
I'm doing the SAHM thing, seeing as I'm working at Pampered Chef at in school and Byron's working 6 days a week.
I try to have the house clean by noon, actually by 11, kitchen, bathroom, laundry and garden watered. Starting tomorrow I'm adding exercise and devotions done by then too.
This should help me get on a better schedule with my schoolwork, which is getting put off too often when I'm doing those other things.
June 24-28 I'll be in California for my Dad's retirement (and my 51st birthday which is June 27)
July 6-9 I'll be in Chicago for Pampered Chef National Conference
July 24ish-31st I'll be in Seattle visiting Felicia, Sarah, meeting Savannah, seeing my brother and other friends in the Seattle area.
August 7th-ish Anthony needs to be in Valparaiso, Indiana for school. He's in a play for the incoming freshmen and needs to be at school 2 weeks before school start. So I'm driving him to Indiana, will take a day or two to get there and visit friends and may take 2-3 days to come back.
School of course, is ever present.
My garden has:
3 blueberry bushes,
1 strawberry plant,
3 kinds of lettuce, radishes,
2 kinds of cucumbers,
4 kinds of tomatos
Peppers: Red, Green, Serrano, Jalapeno and Frisco
Sugar Snap peas
green beans
broccoli
watermelon
cantaloupe
zucchini
yellow squash
pumpkin
1 rose (Anthony's)
and mint, rosemary and parsley. I'm trying to grow cilantro, dill, thyme, oregano and some other herbs from seed, but that's not going well.
I have no clue of what to do in the garden. I haven't gardened in probably 40 years (and that with the help of my father and we had a church gardener for the mowing and pruning and stuff), other than a couple of attempts at a small garden about 10 years ago, which didn't go well.
I'm teaching VBS at Woodmen Valley Chapel June 20-24 (1st graders)
and VBS at First Lutheran (not sure what grade yet)
communion clean up crew at Woodmen
summer bible study at First Lutheran (not sure when that starts yet)
substitute sunday school teacher at Woodmen Valley Chapel
Usher at the 9 am Sunday Service about one sunday per month (Woodmen Valley Chapel)
2-3 Pampered Chef shows a month, working up to 2 shows per week.
That's my summer schedule. Isn't it nice and relaxing?

Lots of exciting news in this post! Woot on the Pampered Chef NationalConference! I hope that inspires you, AND is fun. I wonder if any other SL moms will be there? I am infinitely jealous of your garden, which must be growing due to a lot of hard work. I am imagining all the yummy meals you will enjoy this summer from the bounties thereof.
ReplyDeleteAlas, in the Boonies, we have no good soil, and even if I got busy and did a raised garden, we have no good sunshine, due to all the trees. It seriously is nothing but woods up here. No yard to mow.
Chef Tracy in Idadho will be there, I'm rooming with her and she's my upline. I'm not sure if the other SL PC moms will be there. I'll have to start a thread and ask.
