Happy Sunday

This week went so fast, but seemed so long. Random list today of things I'm thankful for.  What are you thankful for?

This week I'm looking ahead at spring break (March 22-April 1),
Thankful that my substitute teaching is coming along nicely as I'm getting specific calls to ask me to teach.

Last week it was 4 degrees and this week it's 51.

I'm thankful to live where it's sunny most of the time. While I miss aspects of Seattle and I miss my friends, I don't miss months and months of overcast, drizzle, damp and rain.

I'm so very thankful for my Sunday School kids, we had 24 today and they are so much fun. I'm also thankful that someone came into help today and she love teaching and want to take a Sunday school class. This is such an answer to prayer as we've been having 24-34 kids per week in a small room.  Splitting my class means smaller class sizes, which is great for the kids. Though I'll miss whoever moves to the other class.

I'm thankful I have a 3 day weekend (which I'm making a 4 day weekend).

What happens when things get busy

I can no longer keep my calendar in my head.  Things just go too complex, so I use google calendar and my paper calendar. On my paper calendar I write which schools/which hours and my basics of other commitments. This is also my Pampered Chef calendar where I write host information and tasks I'm doing to do for my business.

I need to start a to do list and find a good app for that.  I have school work, bible study work, Sunday School teaching/prep, housework, networking groups, doctors appointments now and again.  I'm working toward having 3 Pampered Chef shows a week and bible study once a week.

How do you keep your calendar?

High school and kindergarten on the same day

Teaching high school special ed this morning and then kindergarten in the afternoon.  Seeing Felicia's new house (she moves in 2/1) at 4:20, it sounds like a darling 1 bedroom cottage only a few miles from us.

First grade, networking and homework

First grade is fun!  Teaching first grade little girls give you notes with a drawing saying "I like you Miss M" - little boys cry in class and let you comfort them.  You can be silly, you can read stories. Yes, there are challenges, but first grade is fun.

Then after work I headed off to a networking event where I talked to some friends, bought a scarf to wear with work clothes, enjoyed a pita pizza and a beverage with friends.

Next up was home where the head usher at for the Sunday Night Service came over and gave me the key to the usher closet and instructions for being lead usher, as he's having me take that position for Sunday.

Now I'm eating dinner, watching Merlin with Byron and updating blogs, whilst thinking about homework for my Reading and Writing Connections class.

Vacation Over, Time to go back to Busy Again

This morning Anthony headed back to college, I was home to see him off. I'm not setting out my sub schedule for the month. I work as a substitute teacher in two districts and have a variety of assigments set for January. So I put those in my calendar I have with me and will put them on Google calendar.

This week I have work 3 half days, a vet appointment for Shadow (cat) and a bible study get together Tuesday night, a networking event Wednesday night and various other things.

What are you doing this week?

Happy New Year!

Long Time No Blog

It's 2013 and since the last time I've blogged I've graduated from college, started substitute teaching, started my Masters Program and Felicia's moved to Colorado.

What have you been up to?
